Clinics and Rentals

Try your hand at Sea Kayaking or Standup Paddleboarding (SUP) at one of our clinics!  We offer Basic and Advanced Paddle Canada SUP Clinics, and Paddle Canada Basic Sea Kayak Clinics from Liverpool, Nova Scotia.  All of our clinics include the use of our equipment (kayak/SUP, PFD, paddle, safety equipment, etc.).

Relaxed Sup Clinics:

You’ll learn the basics – getting on and off the board, paddling, etc. We’ll go for a paddle together and have some fun. We’ll supply the boards, paddles, PFDs, and leashes.  These relaxed clinics aren’t for certification – they’re to get you out on the water in a safe, fun manner!

SUP Courses:

Basic:

In this course you’ll learn how to paddle a paddleboard in calm, sheltered water. You’ll also learn how to safely fall off your board, remounting your board, paddling in different weather conditions, strokes, boating safety, and more!

 

Advanced:

In this course you’ll build on the skills and knowledge gained in the SUP Basic course. You’ll learn how to paddle in more challenging conditions, more strokes, towing, equipment knowledge, and more!

Sea Kayak Courses:

Basic:

In this course you’ll learn how to kayak in calm, sheltered water. You’ll also learn how to safely enter and exit your kayak, paddling skills, strokes, assisted rescue techniques, how to lift and carry your kayak, boating safety, and more!
8 hours (9am-5pm)

*Clinics require a minimum of 4 participants to operate.  Advanced registration is required.

Booking & Cancellation:
A deposit of 50% of the total cost of the clinic is required to book your spot, with the remaining 50% due 30 days before the clinic date.  If you book within 30 days of the clinic date, the full amount will be charged upon booking.
For cancellations occuring up to 2 weeks (14 days) before the clinic date, you will receive a full refund, less an administration fee equal to 10% of the total course cost.
For cancellations occurring within 2 weeks (14 days) of the clinic date, no refund will be issued, unless we are able to re-book your spot.  If we are able to fill your spot, you will receive a full refund, less an administration fee equal to 10% of the total course cost.

We reserve the right to cancel due to extreme weather or insufficient registrations.  In these cases, a full refund will be issued.

If a class is listed as “full”, and you want to be added to the wait list, please email us with your name and contact information, along with the class and date that you want to take the class.

Make a Reservation

We have rentals available at our store in Liverpool, NS.  You can pick up your bike or boat at our store and transport it yourself.  Delivery may be available in some cases, and pricing varies according to location.  2017 Rental rates are listed below.

Reservations are available for equipment rentals, and are required for longer-term rentals being picked up at our store.  We recommend reservations for any equipment, since there isn’t always availability at the last minute.

Kayak – Daily $50  Weekly $195

Double Kayak – Daily $70  Weekly $275

SUP – Daily $35  Weekly $150

Canoe – Daily $50  Weekly $195

* Rental prices do not include HST

Reservations are available for Daily and Weekly rentals.   Rentals that are not reserved are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Deposit

A deposit of $25 /boat or bike is required to make an equipment reservation.

Cancellation Policy

During our regular season, if cancellations are received at least 48 hours before your scheduled departure, your deposit will be refunded, less a $5 cancellation fee.  If less than 48 hours notice is provided, no refund will be given. We will carry a credit for you to be used by the end of the season (Oct 15).

If you have pre-arranged a booking with us outside of our regular season (before May 15th and after October 15th), we require that the rental is paid for in full before your rental, with no refunds.

* Watercraft rentals include paddles, PFDs (1 per kayak, 2 per canoe and double kayak), a whistle, a buoyant heaving line, and a bailer.

** Bike rentals include a helmet.
