Learn to paddle or improve your skills! We offer Basic and Advanced Paddle Canada SUP Clinics, and Paddle Canada Sea Kayak Clinics from Liverpool, Nova Scotia. All of our clinics include the use of our equipment (kayak/SUP, PFD, paddle, safety equipment, etc.).
Sea Kayak Courses:
Basic Kayak Skills
This one day course will get you comfortable with paddling a kayak! You’ll learn how to paddle in sheltered, calm conditions; basic strokes; getting in and out of your kayak safely; and we’ll introduce you to assisted and self-resuces.

Level 1 Sea Kayak Skills
This enjoyable, comprehensive two day course goes beyond the basics in sea kayaking! You’ll learn everything you need to know to comfortably and confidently embark on day-long kayaking trips in relatively calm, sheltered waters.
Learn how to safely and properly enter and exit a kayak.
Wet exits – learn how to safely and confidently exit your kayak in case of capsize. This is probably the most important skill you will ever learn.
Basic strokes – forward and reverse paddling, forward and reverse sweeps, pivoting, stopping, draw strokes, stern rudders and bracing.
Self-rescue and assisted rescue – learn how to rescue yourself and a friend – essential safety skills for solo and group paddles.
Theory – weather conditions, tides, an introduction to navigation, packing, gear and problem solving.
Pre-requisites: Paddle Canada Sea Kayak Basic Skills or equivalent
*Paddle Canada Level 1 Skills certification available
Relaxed Sup Clinics:
You’ll learn the basics – getting on and off the board, paddling, etc. We’ll go for a paddle together and have some fun. We’ll supply the boards, paddles, PFDs, and leashes. These relaxed clinics aren’t for certification – they’re to get you out on the water in a safe, fun manner! These clinics last for approximately 1.5-2 hours. $40+tax

Paddle Canada Sanctioned SUP Courses:
In these clinics you’ll learn basic and advanced SUP skills – these are Paddle Canada sanctioned courses and are eligible for certification.
Basic (Introduction to SUP Skills):
In this course you’ll learn how to paddle a paddleboard in calm, sheltered water. You’ll also learn how to safely fall off your board, remounting your board, paddling in different weather conditions, strokes, boating safety, and more!
This course lasts 2-3 hours
In this course you’ll build on the skills and knowledge gained in the SUP Basic course. You’ll learn how to paddle in more challenging conditions, more strokes, towing, equipment knowledge, and more!
This course lasts 2-3 hours
*Clinics require a minimum of 4 participants to operate. Advanced registration is required.

Payment of the total cost of the clinic is required to book your spot.
For cancellations occurring up to 2 weeks (14 days) before the clinic date, you will receive a full refund, less an administration fee equal to 10% of the total course cost.
For cancellations occurring within 2 weeks (14 days) of the clinic date, no refund will be issued, unless we are able to re-book your spot. If we are able to fill your spot, you will receive a full refund, less an administration fee equal to 10% of the total course cost.
We reserve the right to cancel due to extreme weather or insufficient registrations. In these cases, a full refund will be issued.
