Cayes & Culture Tour: 8 Day / 7 Night Belize Adventure
February 5-12, 2022
This tour gives us a taste of Mayan culture and life on the Cayes. Belize is home to world renowned beaches, dense jungles, and pure ecosystems that support an abundance of wildlife.
We’ll start our adventure in Orange Walk at a small inn on the banks of the New River where we will put our feet up and prepare for our boat trip to the Mayan site Lamanai the next morning.
After experiencing the invigorating ride on the New River and exploring the Lamanai Mayan site, Elio and his family will prepare an authentic Belizean lunch before we depart Orange Walk for Belize City.
Although inland Belize is very beautiful, the Caribbean Sea is calling, and it won’t be out of our sight for the remainder of the trip! It’s time to board the water taxi for our voyage to Ambergris Caye, the first of two Cayes we will be calling home for the next 6 nights (3 on each caye). We chose Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker for our excursions because they each provide a different vibe and broader experience of Belizean life for our guests. Our fully appointed private accommodations on each Caye provide A/C, ocean views, mere steps to the Caribbean, swimming pool and walking distance to everything you will need. Did I forget to mention there are very few cars? But if you want to go somewhere you can hail a golf cart taxi!
While on the Cayes we’ll be snorkelling along the second largest barrier reef in the world (Mesoamerican Barrier Reef), exploring Bacalar Chico (a national park, marine reserve, and UNESCO world heritage site), kayaking, (circumnavigating southern Caye Caulker), SUPing, boat cruising at sunset (from San Pedro), swimming, cycling, walking, and of course there will be plenty of time for relaxation!
Our tours are limited to a group of 10 guests, ensuring we provide you with a quality personal experience, immersing you intimately in the Belizean culture. We’ll enjoy authentic Belizean cuisine prepared in unique restaurants and in our own kitchen by local chefs - and we’ll have a cooking lesson by Donicio at our property on Caye Caulker.
