Join us for 10 days filled with adventure, fun and discovery – in Costa Rica! We’ve carefully created this entire adventure with one goal in mind - to give you a unique, authentic and intimate taste of the “Tico” culture, celebrated and enjoyed by the locals and shared with pride as we explore and dine alongside them.
With our experienced Costa Rican local guides (our friends) at our side, together we’ll transition through three very distinct micro climates while exploring the rainforest, caves and waterfalls and spending time along their beautiful beaches, surrounded by the diverse and abundant wildlife of this magical country.
As a small group of up to 10 people, you won’t find yourself on motorcoaches “looking”. Travelling as our own “bubble” we’ll be totally immersed in the experience of a lifetime. First hand and up close, you’ll feel, smell, and hear the power and natural wonder while kayaking, surfing, embarking on a volcano hike, a jungle hike and a canopy tour, and buckle up for our thrilling white-water rafting adventure.
Travelling as guests and now tour hosts, we fell in love with Costa Rica, making many friends here who can’t wait to show you their home country. We will travel to various parts of the country, staying in small Inns and private vacation homes, giving you an intimate opportunity to sample, learn about and better appreciate the Costa Rican rich and diverse culture, cuisine, climate, geology and recreational opportunities.
We’ll look after everything, just meet us in Liberia and enjoy!

Tour Highlights & Overview
Day 1 - 3, La Fortuna & Nuevo Arenal
We’ll begin with your arrival in Nuevo Arenal, Costa Rica. You'll spend your first 3 days exploring and discovering the natural treasures in and around the Arenal Volcano. With the Volcano in full sight, a beautiful private vacation home overlooking Lake Arenal will be our home base for several adventures including white water rafting, hiking Arenal Volcano, exploring Venado cave, and of course, a sloth tour! Evenings can be spent enjoying a leisurely dip in our private pool, or enjoying beautiful sunsets from our balcony overlooking the majestic Arenal Volcano.
Day 4 - 6, Nuevo Arenal
Nestled high within the Guanacaste hills boasting the most fantastic views of the Arenal Volcano, we’ll continue our natural adventures of Lake Arenal and its stunning scenery!
We can’t wait to introduce you to Patrick, our property host. We have been staying at and enjoying this amazing property for our tours for the past 5 years, and it is an absolute gem! Patrick is an amazing host and chef - his breakfasts are famous, and his dinners are spectacular. (Don’t plan on losing weight here!).
From our base in the Guanacaste hills, we'll spend the days exploring and kayaking on Lake Arenal. We’ll discover the jungle wildlife of the region by way of a hanging bridges canopy tour, hiking to La Fortuna waterfall, and experiencing a jungle hike (possibly a night jungle hike!). We also have unscheduled time for exploration and relaxation.
You can expect to hear Howler monkey calls, and bird songs will be our morning music. Evenings can be spent in the private indoor pool or on the terrace overlooking majestic Lake Arenal.
Day 7 - 10: Playa Grande
Now, it’s time to hit the beach! En route, we will take a detour to the Rio Celeste Waterfall located in Tenorio National Park. This waterfall is a breathtaking natural wonder that one has to see to believe. The brilliant blue water gets its show stopping hue from a chemical reaction between volcanic minerals.
We will move to our fabulous private beachfront vacation home exquisitely situated on a pristine sandy beach on the Pacific Coast, within a National Park! Our Costa Rican beach property features open spaces, amazing sunsets, and best of all, an incredible uncrowded beach as your front yard! Enjoy a private chartered cruise, snorkel, SUP, explore secluded beaches, and maybe even try for a fish or two!
Certified Costa Rican surfing instructors; Marcos, Marianna, and their team will expertly ease everyone into a rewarding surfing/bodyboarding experience in the warm Pacific waters. An authentic Costa Rican dinner finishes off the experience as we watch the sun set on our beach and this trip. Time to make plans for next year!

- 9 nights’ accommodations in unique and comfortable private vacation properties and small Inns. All properties have air conditioning in the bedrooms, and a combination of private and shared bathrooms.
- All meals! From dinner upon arrival to breakfast on departure day, many prepared by our local hosts and their culinary team. Plan to sip, savour and soak up the local culinary delights!
10 Day Package includes: 9 Breakfasts / 8 Lunches / 9 Dinners - All transfers and transportation is included and provided by private services with experienced Costa Rican drivers for our group of up to 10 guests. (No mass motorcoach travel for us!)
- All tours and guides! You'll be in good hands with our combination of Canadian (Nova Scotian!) and Costa Rican guides, screened, evaluated and selected by your Nova Scotia friends at Liverpool Adventure Outfitters.
- You’ll never be alone; our Canadian guides accompany guests 24/7.
Once we meet you at the airport, you can relax and enjoy your trip – we’ll curate your adventure every step of the way! - Your safety, security and comfort is our priority. All Canadian Guides/Trip Leaders are insured by Liverpool Adventure Outfitters, possess current First Aid certification, hold a current Paddle Canada instructor certification in Kayaking, Canoeing, or SUP, have led tours in Canada for Liverpool Adventure Outfitters and have participated in and successfully completed on site training in the locations they will be leading trips.
