All of our clinics include the use of our equipment (kayak or SUP, PFD, paddle, safety equipment, etc.)

Basic Kayak SkillsIn this one day Paddle Canada Sea Kayak course you'll learn how to paddle in calm conditions, learn basic strokes, and how to get in and out of your kayak safely. We'll also introduce you to assisted and self-rescues. This course runs on non-challenging protected waters with limited wind effect, little or no current, easy landings, and ready access to land-based assistance.

This clinic will also be led by a female instructor, with the goal of creating a comfortable atmosphere for all. Level 1 Sea Kayak SkillsThis comprehensive two day Paddle Canada Sea Kayak course goes beyond the basics in sea kayaking. You’ll learn everything you need to know to comfortably and confidently embark on day-long kayaking trips in relatively calm, sheltered waters.
Topics covered include: WET EXITS - Perhaps the most important kayaking skill, you'll learn how to safely exit your kayak in the event of a capsize. BASIC STROKES - Learn forward and reverse paddling & sweeps, pivoting, stopping, draw strokes, stern rudders and bracing. SELF-RESCUE AND ASSISTED RESCUE - Learn how to rescue yourself and a friend; essential safety skills for solo and group paddles. THEORY - We'll cover weather conditions, tides, an introduction to navigation, packing, gear and problem solving.
