Your adventure begins as we paddle across the ocean, weaving our way past seabird colonies, playful seals, and the rugged shoreline of Spectacle Island. Along the way, you’ll be treated to sweeping views of Nova Scotia’s most stunning white-sand beaches — including the iconic Carter’s Beach, famous for its turquoise shallows and soft, powdery sand. As we make our way toward Port Mouton Island, the scenery only gets better. Once ashore, you’ll enjoy a delicious, locally prepared lunch. Afterward, take time to explore the island’s wild beauty — stroll its beaches, wander through the coastal landscape, or simply relax and soak in the peace and quiet that only a remote island can offer. Autumn on the Water Kayak TourCelebrate the colours of the season on our Autumn on the Water — kayak tour that blends vibrant scenery, calm-water paddling, and the stories that shaped the historic Mersey River.
As autumn settles over the South Shore, the river transforms into a corridor of glowing reds, golds, and fiery oranges. You’ll drift beneath overhanging branches as they mirror their colours on the water, creating a picture-perfect backdrop for a relaxed and refreshing paddle. Along the way, your guide will share the myths, legends, and privateering tales rooted in this storied region. From whispers of old river routes to the ones who once navigated these waters, the Mersey’s past comes alive in the crisp fall air. Whether you’re a seasoned paddler or brand new to kayaking, this easygoing tour offers the perfect mix of nature, storytelling, and peaceful exploration. Wildlife is often active this time of year, and you may spot eagles, geese, ducks, and other river residents preparing for the colder months ahead. It’s the ultimate autumn outing — calm water, colourful scenery, and the magic of Nova Scotia’s fall season, all from the best seat in the house: your kayak. Cancellation:
Cancellations received up to 48 hours before your tour/clinic will receive a refund of the full amount paid, less a $10 administrative fee.
Cancellations received within 48 hours of your tour/clinic will receive a credit of the value of the tour (less a $10 administrative fee), to be used during the same operating season.
If no notice of cancellation is given, no refund or credit will be issued.
We reserve the right to cancel paddle tours due to dangerous weather (lighting or high winds), guide availability or insufficient registration. In these cases, full refunds or credits (if you wish) will be issued and reschedule at a mutually convenient time.
